I have been fortunate to have played and owned many
very fine guitars over the years. I am forever indebted to those wizards and magical people of the luthiers profession who create such fine instruments.
Guitars used to record the new album, Cranes in the
Moonlight. include:
– a multi-scale acoustic baritone made by Russel Crosby, a
very talented luthier located in East Jordan, Nova Scotia
– a 12 fret, acoustic small jumbo (Tamar) and an OM (Taw) made
by Simon, Andy and Jack at Brook Guitars, nestled in the
rustic countryside on the edge of the Dartmoor National
Forest in the South West of England,
east of Cornwall.
– An Avian Falcon acoustic baritone
guitar designed by Luthiers Michael Bashkin and
Harry Fleishman.
Guitars used to record Summer Sands & Sleeping Bears
include:
– a mini jumbo acoustic guitar (AJ25cx) known as “The
Raven,” made by luthier Dermot McIlroy, located in
Ireland.
– an exceptional OM photo type made by Florida Luthier
Simon Fay
– two superb guitars made by Ohio luthier Tim McKnight -a Highlander
model known as the “Cigar” and and a Mini Mac model dubbed the “Diamond.
– a Kayleigh model guitar made by the late Lance McCollum
– a Lakewood New Century
– the only steel string guitar made, to my knowledge, by Australian luthier
Greg Smallman, owned and played by one of my favorite guitarists on the
planet, Steve Reinthal.
